Come and put your best foot forward…

Runway Theatre Company returns to Paisley following last years smash hit, Cinderella. This year, we are proud to present Dick Whittington, initially written by our late founder, Eric Goold and updated for 2024 by Neal MacCowan.

Runway Panto’s have given audiences a little pleasure and happy memories they’ll always treasure for over 50 years.

About Us

Runway Theatre Company have been performing our original traditional Scottish pantomimes for over 50 years. Originally performing as the Glasgow Airport Drama Club, founded by Eric Goold, the then finance director of Glasgow Airport, he wrote all of our 7 pantomimes and composed all of the songs that were part of them. It is estimated that over 120,000 people have seen a Runway pantomime - which doesn’t include the millions of additional viewers who saw our pantomimes in 2015 and 2016 when they were broadcast nationally over the Christmas period on STV.

Production Team

Greg Robertson
Director & Choreographer

Greg joined Runway originally as our musicals choreographer in 2016. He took over the running of the club with his wife Claire in 2022 when Robert Fyfe stepped down.

David Dunlop
Musical Director

David joined Runway in 2011 as Musical Director and has been at the helm of all our musicals and pantomimes since.

Nicola Fry
Assistant Choreographer

Nicola has been a member of Runway for over 25 years and featured in many of our dance numbers. Nicola became the choreographer for our pantomimes in 2018.

Auditions Process

There is a 2 step audition process for joining our pantomime. A workshop-style company audition will be held so we can see and hear your singing and dancing abilities. This will be followed by Principal auditions if you wish to put yourself forward for one of the listed parts. The audition will consist of a song and allocated dialogue - available after the company auditions.

Smaller roles will be allocated by the Production Team based on auditions.

If you are successful in the club auditions a membership fee of £75 will apply (£40 for students and senior citizens - proof required). If you performed in Anything Goes, you will have paid your fee for the year.

Club members must be over the age of 16 at the time of auditioning. Runway Theatre Company is proud to be a friendly club and everyone is welcome to audition.  We are a community theatre company, all performing roles are unpaid. No previous experience is required however a certain standard of singing and movement is expected from you.
